Courtesy Pay Overdraft Program
No one wants to overdraw their account, but let’s face it, it can happen to anyone. Reduce your chance of overdrawing and limit your fee exposure by using the following helpful tips.
- With your savings at the Credit Union we will automatically look for funds to cover any transaction trying to clear your account
- Sign up for Courtesy Pay
Courtesy Pay will save you the potential embarrassment of overdrawing or getting declined with your debit card while saving you fees. Courtesy Pay can save you money and hassle because it covers transactions that would otherwise be rejected. If you have Courtesy Pay and a check, Automatic Clearing House (ACH) or recurring bill payment overdraws your account, Western CT FCU pays it on your behalf for a fee. By having WCFCU pay the transaction as opposed to returning it, you will not be charged Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) fees or be contacted for the collection of a returned check, ACH or recurring bill payment. You also will not be added into the NSF tracking systems. You can also choose to include debit card access to your Courtesy Pay limit to avoid getting declined for purchases. The fees charged for our Courtesy Pay program are:
- Courtesy Pay: $30.00 per Courtesy Pay item.
- Courtesy Pay Mini: $16.00 per Courtesy paid item if the overdraft is less than $25.
Courtesy Pay Fees only apply to eligible Premium Checking account holders that have elected to participate in the program. All overdrafts outside the Courtesy Program limits, and overdrafts on non-eligible Premium Checking and Basic Checking accounts will be subject to the standard Overdraft Item Fee ($32).
