April is Youth Month
All throughout the month of April, we are celebrating the kids in our community. We want you to join in on the fun as we celebrate and encourage young members to save for the future. At Western CT FCU, we truly care about the youth in our community and believe in teaching the importance of saving at a young age so that we can set our young members on the right financial path. Together, we encourage young members to Save Small and Dream Big so that one day they may have enough to fulfill their financial goals.
Now’s the time to empty your piggy banks
Let the kids participate by depositing money into their savings account for the chance to win a cool prize! For every $5.00 that is deposited into their youth savings account in April, they will be entered in a raffle for a chance to win a gift card to The Cave, an indoor glow-in-the-dark zone offering mini golf, laser tag, ropes courses, arcade and more! The more you save, and the more you visit us throughout April, the greater chance you have at winning!
It’s an Ice Cream Celebration
Even better, on Saturday April 30th from 12pm to 2pm we will have our friends from Ice Cream Emergency in our parking lot give out FREE ice cream to all of our kids for being such great savers. What better way to end Youth Month than with FREE ice cream!
Get a Bite of Reality at our Virtual Workshop ideal for Teens
Along with these fun activities, Youth Month is all about financial education. On Wednesday, April 27th at 7:00pm Western CT FCU will be hosting a virtual Financial Reality Fair for our young members and their families. Through an active learning experience you can participate in a simulation on what it means to afford a life that is financially independent. You will learn about making reasonable financial choices within a given salary. This includes cost of housing, food, transportation, paying down debt, saving for emergencies, saving for retirement, dealing with student loan debt and more! It’s an eye-opening experience for both children and adults that relates to everyday life! Please call our office 203-791-9399 or email our Member Care Team firstname.lastname@example.org to register or let us know if you have any questions.
We look forward to seeing you & your family in April!
